Dr. Debasish Prusty

Additional Secretary – Department of Financial Services
Dr. Debasish Prusty is a member of the Indian Administrative Service and now serving as the Additional Secretary in the Department of Financial Services in the Union Ministry of Finance in the Government of India. He has more than 26 years of experience in the designing and implementing polices in the realm of Public Finance, Sustainable Development, and Development Cooperation and Environmental and Urban Governance.
Before joining his current assignment, he served as the Principal Secretary in Finance and Urban Development Department in the Government of Rajasthan.
He had contributed to India's initiative for collaboration and partnership with various countries to launch the International Solar Alliance (ISA) platform in the year 2015 when he was the Director in the Climate change division of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change in Government of India.
He has served as India’s Deputy Chief of Mission in the Embassy of India to Belgium, Luxembourg and the European Union in Brussels from 2019 to 2024.
He has been conferred the Doctor of Philosophy from the Management Department of the Manipal University Jaipur and the Master of philosophy in Environmental sciences from the Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi, India. Dr. Prusty is well trained from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in the field of Finance for Macro-economists.
