Shaji Thomas Kurian joined GIC Re in April 1999 as a Direct Recruit officer. He is a Fellow of Insurance Institute of India. Started his career in the IT department before moving to Reinsurance Operations in 2015. Later was posted to GIC UK branch in 2017 as Operations Manager reporting to the CEO. During his stint at the branch, he held the FCA approved person role of SMF 16 (compliance oversight for the branch) and served as Director at GIC Re Corporate Member (Lloyds).

He currently holds the position of Deputy General Manager – Information Technology Management Group, Actuarial & Business Intelligence, and Investment Accounts.
