Mr. Prashant Madhukar Shilwant is a postgraduate in Commerce (Management) from Mumbai University and a Fellow of the Insurance Institute of India.

He joined GIC Re in 1995 in the Reinsurance (Swift) Department after completing a (10+2) Vocational Course in General Insurance. Over his distinguished 30+ years of service, he has managed diverse portfolios across Reinsurance (Operations & Accounts), Information Technology, and Investment Operations.

A driving force behind efficiency and digital transformation at GIC Re, He has played a pivotal role as a Core Team Member in SAP implementation and functional upgrades, eThru Projects (electronic accounting & settlement), SAP-DMS integration, and investment approvals through workflow systems. His leadership was instrumental in implementing the Electronic Order Management System (EMSX) for equity portfolios, ensuring real-time, systemic improvements in Investment.

Leveraging his deep expertise in business processes and IT systems, He has developed numerous in-house reports catering to MIS, regulatory compliance, audit tracking, risk monitoring and strategic decision-making at GIC Re. His commitment to digital innovation and operational excellence has significantly contributed to strengthening the organization's financial framework.

He also serves as a member of the Steering Committee for IND-AS implementation at GIC Re.

Following his promotion to Deputy General Manager, He is in charge of Agriculture, Marine, Aviation, and Motor lines of Domestic & Foreign Reinsurance Business written at GIC Re's Head Office.
